A former Venezuelan Davis Cup player and captain, Andrew played on the professional tour for more than ten years, including appearances at Wimbledon, U.S. Open, French Open and Australian Open. His highest world singles ranking was 61st in singles, while he reached 69th in doubles.
Jorge is the Immediate President of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), the largest and most global teaching organization in the world.
Andrew is a member of the USTA National Local Play and Competition Committee. He is a member of the USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis Committee and member of the USTA South Carolina Tennis Coaches Committee.
Jorge is a PTR International Clinician and Tester in Junior and Adult Development, one of the original USTA National 10 and Under Master Trainer, and is on the National Advisory Staff and Speakers Team for Head/Penn.
In 2008, Jorge received the USTA South Carolina Lucy Garvin Award as "Volunteer of the Year", the USTA Southern Quick Start Tennis "Trainer of the Year", the Racquet Sport Industry "PTR Member of the Year", and the USTA/USPTA "Community Service Award". Jorge was the 1991 PTR "Professional of the Year", 2003 and 2006 PTR Member of the Year for South Carolina, and the 2006 USPTA Southern Professional of the Year.
Joel has been involved in tennis in South Carolina since 1988. He has been a pro shop manager, a league coordinator as well as coordinating special events at both the collegiate and professional level - including special events for the 1991-1992 Champion Tour. Joel came to Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission in 1994 after leaving the Tri City Leisure Center where he was the Assistant Director
1996 Director at The Ball Park Road Complex, where his work spawned a continuous and successful program. 1999 Coordinated the Play Tennis America kick off for Lexington and Richland County.
In 2002 he was named Complex Coordinator for LCTC. During this time the complex won the following awards:
2002 PTR Public Facility of the year, 2003 Outstanding USA League Facility, 2003 USTA Outstanding Facility, 2004 Racquet Sports Industry Facility of the year, 2006 & 2007 TIA & USTA Top 50 Tennis Welcome Centers in the United States, 2008 Top-5 South Carolina Tournaments Participant, 2014 Designated a 'PTR Proud Facility', 2014 National Championship Youth Team,2014 Outstanding Service Award.
Each year Joel hosts and coordinates two Rising Stars Tournaments, a Challenger, and the Lexington County Junior Open. He has also been a director for the South Carolina Hard-Courts and South Carolina ITF. Recently Joel has also begun coordinating with our Cayce facility in hosting the Southern Tens - East Tournament which started in 2003 at Lexington County Tennis Complex.
A native of South Carolina, Chip has more than 30 years of playing experience and over 10 years coaching.
He played intercollegiate tennis at Spartanburg Methodist College and later graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in history. He was the South Carolina Team Champion at the 4.5 and 5.0 NTRP levels.
Chipís teaching experience includes QuickStart instruction, individual lessons, group clinics, and team clinics. He has coached high school tennis, USA 123 and is heavily involved with the tennis development of middle school-aged juniors. He also volunteers with the Junior Tennis League (JTL). Chip volunteers as a youth mentor and is active in many other aspects.
A native of South Carolina and current resident of Lexington, Steve has a Bachelorís Degree in Business Administration and is a retired Lexington County law enforcement officer. Steve has more than twenty years of playing experience and over ten years of tennis teaching experience.
Steveís teaching experience includes individual lessons, group clinics - which includes Home School paticipant clinics, Novice (beginner) clinics, junior Tournament Player clincis, varsity and junior varsity high school athlete clinics and adult team clinics. Several of the teams that he has coached have advanced in; or won, either the City or State Championship Tournament.
In addition to these clincis, he has taught Special Olmpics athletes and volunteered as a coach at the Special Olympics Tennis Championships held at the PTR Headquarters in Hilton Head, South Carolina. As a member of the PTR, Steve continues to receive additional training and certifications and has received specific training in the QuickStart Tennis format for 10 and under players.
Native of S.C., Nancy is a Lexington High School graduate and holds a BA degree in Political Science/History from the University of South Carolina. Nancy has been involved in teaching tennis since 1988 when the Lexington Leisure Center opened. She was contracted to teach at the Ballpark Rd. complex, which was just the beginning of a long career of teaching, playing and volunteering her time in the sport of tennis.
She is a founding member of the Lexington Area Tennis Association (LATA) whose basic intent is to provide more courts and tennis programs in our community. Nancy was the first junior program coordinator for the association.
She has also served on the Junior Tennis League (JTL) board of directors and a volunteer coach and was instrumental in coordinating the annual coachís clinic and updating the coachís manual. In 1999, she was awarded the JTLís Outstanding Service and Volunteer award.
Highlights of her tennis career include: Successful passing of the USTA Level I and II Sport science exams which included sport psychology/motor learning, sport physiology/nutrition, sports medicine/biomechanics, Lifetime member of the USTA / USTA SC USA tennis committee, current USTA SC Community Development Volunteer, Former Junior Varsity Tennis Coach for Lexington High School producing winning records during her tenure, 1995 K-Swiss Pro of the Year, Coached and played on numerous league teams that advanced to city, state and regional championships, Graduate of Van Der Meer Tennis University, Member of the Professional Tennis Registry for over 25 years, Current LATA Board Member and League Level Coordinator, former LATA Kids Team Tennis Coordinator, and a Head/Penn Sports team member
Nancy's teaching experience includes Collegiate level instruction, Lil' Bits (10&Under format) clinics, Cardio tennis for juniors and adults, league clinics, individual and group lessons from beginner to advanced for adults and juniors.
